Churchill once said: "We shape our buildings, and afterwards our buildings shape us." Although this statement is not new, it is truly insightful. Buildings, from towering skyscrapers to local supermarkets, are constantly connected to our daily lives. You have probably experienced moments in your life when you walked into a building and were deeply moved, exclaiming "Wow". Or when you visited a friend's house and immediately sensed a certain atmosphere. Good architecture, like good art, can change the way you live, work, and entertain. Traditional Chinese culture recognizes this point and has developed the study of "feng shui". Is it superstition or a discipline? How do we judge and appreciate good architecture? What should good architecture look like? I have not studied architectural design, so I will only discuss this from my limited knowledge of environmental psychology.
